Getting there

Airport > City Centre

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 10km away from the city centre.

Train (about 15 minutes) – recommended

The train station is situated directly below the airport and well signposted. It is accessed, from arrivals, via the Schiphol Plaza. Tickets can be purchased from the yellow ticket machines or from the ticket offices situated near the red/white-checked cube in Schiphol Plaza.
 - Single train ticket (2nd class) to Amsterdam Central Station: € 3.70
 - Single train ticket (2nd class) to Amsterdam RAI: € 2.50.
Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information.

Taxi
Taxi Centrale Amsterdam Taxis are available in front of the airport arrival building. A taxi to the city centre costs approximately € 42 trip and takes about 25 minutes

City Centre > Amsterdam RAI City Centre 

Amsterdam Central Station is the city’s main train station, with access to GVB public transport: tram, bus, ferries and metro lines making getting to and from the RAI/City Centre efficient and affordabl.From Amsterdam Central Station, there are four ways to get to Amsterdam RAI:

Tram
Tram #4 provides a frequent and direct service to Amsterdam RAI.

Metro
Metro #51 takes you directly to Amsterdam RAI. The metro station at Amsterdam Central Station is located right underneath the front entrance.

Taxi
Taxi Centrale Amsterdam. It costs approximately € 15 and takes about 15 minutes.

Car
Directly on approaching Amsterdam via the motorway A1, A2 or A4 and entering the ring road (A10), the RAI is indicated on the signboards. Amsterdam RAI is located alongside the ring road (exit S109).From the exit the route to the car parks is indicated.

Amsterdam RAI to Schiphol Airport

Taxi
A taxi to Schiphol International Airport costs approximately € 33 and takes about 20 minutes.

Train
Train is the easiest form of transport between Amsterdam RAI and Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. The train station is approximately 10 minutes walk from the RAI conference centre. Price of a single ticket (2nd class): € 2.50.

Getting around Amsterdam: GVB Transport Pass 

Amsterdam offers one of the most extensive travel networks in the world using metro, tram and bus.

The GVB Transport Pass can be bought at the same time you register for the FIP Congress. Tickets are available per day and the prices for 2012 will be mentioned shortly on the website.

Note: that the GVB Transport Pass is not valid on the trains and buses of transport companies other than GVB.
